seems that the old CP/M command called SWEEP can still find a job.
the way it worked, it would use the syntax:
SWEEP DELETE *.BAK
which is roughly the same as del *.bak /s with the modern command prompt
now I will offer a more complex example
SWEEP RMDIR BACKUP
this time any directory called BACKUP is nuked
so.....
guess I need to clone SWEEP

so I can simply use the command line to pass the function directly
