Windows 7, 64 bit, Visual Studio 2008, Visual C++, MFC, dialog

I am creating a utility to validate a definition file called TMATS. This is a telemetry application.  There is a need to be able to run this via a command line type interface. The goal is to be able to use the application under the command of a batch file. In that manner it can be used to check N number of files and save the results in some log files.

There will be a slew of option to set and significant interaction between the application and the command line operations.

In particular I am thinking of using something like the programming language Expect as the driver.

Is this possible or reasonable?  If so, where might I read about it?
