I have a number of Processes that process information in batches. These processes run with a form showing progress bars and progress messages so it is usually evident that they are still operating until they finish their jobs and end them selves.
Starting with Vista, we noticed that these processes would display in the title bar "Not Responding", even though they are updating and progressing through their jobs nicely.
One process was especialy visible at that time and we used a support case to find out how to disable windows doing this. Now the other processes are getting some visability and showing the dreaded "Not Responding".
I have looked for what we did to the one process but cannot find what fixed the problem. Please save yourself the trouble of telling me to use a background worker thread. These are sequential jobs that do not need to be spawned on a thread. I just need to know how the stop the message from getting in the title bar.
The message is erroneous and causes people to think something is wrong when nothing is wrong other than windows having the wrong idea.
These processes were started in Visual C++ version 6 and now build just fine in vs2013 other than this problem.
