i am still learning visual c++
I have written a windows forms application, to help a child learn English, which I want to send to my friend in china, as well as to my sister. (I have had invaluable help on this site in actually finishing the application)
I have sent, in a .zip file:
a short 'installation' program which copies the files needed for the programme to a folder on 'c' drive, as well as a shortcut file to desktop;
the folder on 'c' drive contains a folder for images, a folder for sounds, a textfile with English/Chinese words, and the application itself.(these are contained in the .zip file, along with the shortcut file - they go to 'c' drive, shortcut to desktop)
my friend in china says nothing at all happens when she extracts the files and clicks on the 'installation' programme
my sister says when she right-clicks the .zip file and chooses 'extract all' the computer says there is nothing to extract.......
i have tried emailing the .zip folder to myself (using windows live mail) and most of the time the folder arrives on my computer half its original size. (4 Mb instead of 8) when i try to extract the files windows posts me a message saying it has removed a potentially harmful file, there is no option to override it, and then both windows forms programmes have disappeared, as well as the folders of images and sounds
i have windows 7 64 bit (home premium)
i know outlook express used to remove attachments, and i see in windows live mail there is an option to block programmes which might harm the computer, as yet i have not unchecked this as even if i can get everything past the email programme it seems to be windows 7 itself which is blocking and deleting the application
i hope the answer is embarrassingly simple but i wrote the thing to share it and it seems the only place i can run it is on my own computer.............
thank you in advance for any help.
